The Shakti app, a free application launched by Punjab Police, is particularly designed with women's safety in mind and comes highly recommended. Users are required to register within the app, after which they receive an One-Time Password (OTP) for complete configuration. Upon triggering an SOS alert from the app, the user's location data is promptly transmitted to the Punjab Police control room and to designated contacts, enabling swift dispatch of assistance from nearby police units.

Key features of the Shakti app include:

A user-friendly interface that facilitates easy adaptation.
Real-time location sharing (including latitude, longitude, and street address).
Access to contact numbers for all nearby Police Station's Station House Officers (SHO).
The capability for police notifications to reach the public through the app.
A dedicated help button for instant alerts to Punjab Police as well as the user’s guardians.
